2008 Volvo XC90 - Stylish, dependable family car.
The Volvo XC90 is a sturdy SUV with a powerful V8 engine and 4 wheel drive. The 3rd row easily flips down to accommodate larger items in the back. It handles very well on city and highway roads. Also handles corners well.
Story
We took the XC90 on an impromptu road trip (15 hour drive!) in the winter and it handled great. Felt safe and secure riding in this car. My husband reminds me it was built for snowy conditions and I believe him after that trip. Never felt unsafe.
Pros
The drive is smooth. Powerful V8 engine has a lot of power when you need it. Optional roof rack makes storage easy. The middle seat in the second row converts to a booster. Plenty of room for car seats in the 2nd row.
Cons
The third row is very cramped, wouldn't recommend for a large kid and definitely not for an adult or larger child.
2007 Volvo XC90 - Great family car
A practical family car with room for seven. It has a sleek leather interior. There is also a sunroof for the days that it nice out. And the back hatch opens both up and down which makes it easy to load stuff into the back.
Story
I have a picture of my son with two of his friends and my daughter and her friend in the car—all seats were full! It was a cute picture!
Pros
This car was built with families in mind. There is room for seven people and even has a built in booster seat in the middle seat of the middle row. But there's also plenty of room for storage as the back two seats fold down flat. I also love the all leather interior and that there is a separate control for A/C for the third row.
Cons
There really isn't much negative. I suppose it could be a little roomier, especially in the third row. And the side panel of the driver's seat broke off after normal use.
