I purchased my vehicle used in 2008. It now has over 140,000 miles on it. I have loved this vehicle from the start. It has been very reliable and has a good ride. In addition, it has room for 7 passengers which has come in very handy on several occasions. When I bought the car, the 100,000 or 5 year warranty transferred with it. I think that was great, even though I never had to use it in that time period.
Story
Most recently, my husband, our friends, our two children and me all made a trip to Ikea which is an hour away. We were packed in like sardines, considering there were also two car seats in the car. While at Ikea, we purchased a kitchen table, a desk and a rug that all had to be strapped to the top of the vehicle. As I said, we were packed like sardines and we were probably a sight!
Pros
As I said before, the smooth ride is one of my favorite parts of the vehicle. Also, I love that it can seat 7 people rather comfortably if the need arises. However, now that I have a young child, it is probably the safety features that are the most important to me.
Cons
The car is now 11 years old. So, even though these are negative comments, honestly, I don't think it is too bad. Aside from regular oil changes and services, in the past year I have had to get the air ventilation system replaced. Also, I am now having to replace the ECU. These are both very expensive parts to have replaced. But at the same time, I have had very little other services done to the car.

I own a 2005 Volvo XC90. The car has been reliable throughout our ownership. All aspects of the car are holding up well, especially considering the car is more than 10 years old. For example, the interior leather on the seats has shown very little wear. In fact, my friends are often very surprised when I tell them that my car is actually more than 13 years old. We expect our Volvo to be around for many years to come. Our daughter will probably be taking it off to college.
Story
Our family loves going on vacations with our car. Last year, the all-wheel drive came in quite handy when we took a trip into the mountains and it began to snow. We were able to make it up to our vacation rental and enjoy our trip.
Pros
The car is very reliable. Both the interior and exterior have held up well over time.
Cons
The car can be expensive to repair and maintain.
