2007 Volvo V50 - Quality luxury vehicle
I think that the Volvo company is well trusted or a reason. All I have seen up to the past 7 years is a quality brand that has well earned its top spot in the competition for luxury vehicles. My dad had one that rode over 300,000 miles. That is a lot for a car many good cars are ready for the junk yard in half the time so I am definitely thinking it was a good purchase for me considering I still have 2-3 years before I will be car shopping for a new car. It was worth the price to have something that I could depend on to hold up for these past few years. I would definitely purchase a Volvo again and may do so in the future. I am not sure when I will be shopping for a new car but when I do Volvo dealership will be hearing from me.
Story
Driving in NYC I thought it was a great time
Pros
Handled great even in snow
Cons
The only draw back I would notice is that the servicing has to be specialized so not every place or dealership is equipped to service my Volvo. That being said it is still worth it for the way it lasts in quality.
2007 Volvo V50 - Wagon with speed
I received the car as a gift from my parents. It was not a brand new car, but a hand-me-down. Nevertheless, an upgrade from the 2004 Mazda millennia I was driving at the time. The interior of the Volvo is very spacious and the trim is made to look very classy and modern. The hatch in the back is a perfect space to fit any kind of additional items or any kind of equipment that may be too big to fit in a regular trunk of a car.
Pros
The car certainly has a lot of advantages – besides the excellent overall safety ratings… I have been driving the Volvo for about 5 years now and it has not given me any kind of technical problems, aside from the regular required maintenance work. So, basically aside from changing the tires, brakes and whatever else, I have not had any kind of additional work done to this car, nor have I needed to. The handling is excellent and it drives more like a 4-door sedan than a station wagon.
Cons
The only negative thing I can say about the car is that I’m not thrilled with how it looks. To me the back end looks a little too rounded which gives it an awkward shape when looking at the car from a particular angle. Aside from the outside appearance, I can’t think of anything else I really dislike about this car.
