2005 Volkswagen Touareg Owner Ratings & Reviews

2005 Volkswagen Touareg - Big old waist of cash.
If I were a mom with lots of cash this would be a great car. It handles snow well, witch is good for me, I live in a snowy state up a canyon. So for that reason its a good car. However its a gas hog, cost an arm and a leg to repair and it does drag a bit going up hills. Trying to go to college and pay for this sucker blows
Story
nope
Pros
Ability to get me up and down my canyon in the winter time.
Cons
Gas hog, drags going up hill. Handles turns and bumps poorly, expensive to repair.
2005 Volkswagen Touareg - Great SUV for small families.
The 2005 Volkswagen Touareg is a great SUV for a small family. It provides great power, good gas mileage for its class, and plenty of room. The acceleration and handling make it feel more like a car on the street, but it is very capable off road as well. The standard equipment on the vehicle is great. The adjustable roof racks make it easy to strap different size loads on the roof.
Pros
The 4.2 liter V8 with 300+ horsepower and 300+ pound feet of torque really get this SUV down the road. With heated leather seating, air conditioning front and rear, leather wrapped steering wheel, it is easy to forget you are in an SUV. The rear hatch is perfect with its separate opening window for small loads. The proximity key is great for unlocking the vehicle without taking the key out.
Cons
The cost of maintaining the vehicle is higher than some of the competition. The brakes are a little lacking for a vehicle of this size and weight. The radio in the base model is a bit behind in technology. Still has a regular key instead of push button start.
