The Volkswagen Tiguan is a smaller SUV vehicle that offers ample amount of space and is very reliable for distance traveling. Even though it is a "bigger" car it does not drive like one; the handling on it is very smooth and I feel like I'm driving a sedan and not an SUV which I like. I am a bit under 100k miles and it is still going strong without any major problems. The interior is mainly made of plastic parts and the seats are cloth, but I find it fairly easy to clean and wipe up any spills. There are not too many nooks and crannies so wiping everything down with a rag makes it look just brand new even though I've owned it for quite a few years.
Story
When my boyfriend and I took a trip to Tennessee it was his first time riding it and the look on his face of pure bliss when he put it into sport mode and took off was fantastic!
Pros
I really enjoy the handling and smooth ride the Tiguan offers. I also really enjoy the space it provides because you can open the trunk so much and store a lot of things in there. The seats also come down so you could even get a mattress in there and do some sort of overnight sleeping if need be!
Cons
I really do not like the gear changing, something about it feels incredibly off to me and it is not as smooth as I would prefer. Economically it shifts at a lower RPM, but I wish it would do it at a larger one when first accelerating because it seems like the car struggles and shakes before it goes into 3rd gear if you're going slow. I've been trying to fix a computer issue because the wheel adjustment light has been glowing forever and nothing is wrong with them, I think its just a computer issue so that's unfortunate. This vehicle provides a smooth ride. It's perfect for my family and i. It's roomy enough for groceries, luggage, and pets. The ride is so smooth it would be great to take a long vacation in it. The breaks work wonderful and it's a very quiet car. The care sits high enough where we feel comfortable while traveling. Cons of the car are is that some of the interior is a little "cheap" but that could very well just be the model we chose. We have always had VW's and do not plan on going back anytime soon. Thank you for a great vehicle!
