This is a very well built car. The steering is nice and tight. It handles great.
Story
Driving out to the Hamptons with the windows down and the sunroof completely open.
Pros
It is an SUV so you are raised up. It is small and has great pick up. The steering is nice and tight.
Cons
I wish the car had automatic headlights.

The car seems to be very well made. I have had my car for 70,000 miles and have had no issues to date. The only time I have had to take my car in to the shop was for my regular oil changes. Oil changes are much less than other cars I have had in the past. I believe my car only needs an oil change now every 10,000 miles; however, my car will alert me when an oil change is needed and will count down how many miles I have until its critical. The car is Bluetooth-enabled, which allows me to make calls in the car hands-free. I also use the Bluetooth functionality to play Pandora through my car speakers. I have had a couple of issues with the Bluetooth connectivity, but the issues I was able to easily resolve myself. Please note that these issues cannot be fixed while driving the car so I di... Story
I took this car on my very first trip out of state. This was the first car I ever purchased on my own, and I was so excited to drive it. Shortly after getting the car, I took a road trip to the next state over and enjoyed everything about the drive.
Pros
The car has a very smooth ride. The four-wheel drive is very nice in the winter, especially living in Ohio where we get a decent amount of snow. The car accelerates and gets up to speed very quickly, which I appreciate. There is no lag when the light turns red. The interior is roomy for a smaller SUV and has a lot of storage space. The backseat easily fits 2-3 average-sized adults and the trunk is roomy enough for boxes, bags even a stroller. There is also added storage space for small items such as sunglasses, CDs, and any other small items you may need to store. I feel like they were ver... (more)
Cons
The gas mileage in my car is poor. I believe I get less than 25 miles per gallon, and the car takes premium which is more expensive. This car wouldn't be great for long commutes. Also, this model doesn't have a back-up camera or any other safety features that newer cars have. I believe some of these would now be standard on newer cars but were not available on my model year. Another con about my car is that since it is a German a lot of the features on this car are different from other cars so it is hard to find someone who is able to work on the cars and do a great job. Also, it is more e... (more)

2012 Volkswagen Tiguan - The Tiguan is a small SUV. It is stylish and has a turbo engine which gives it a lot of pep. It handles well and is fun to drive.

Overall I am very impressed with my Tiguan. It handles well especially in snow. The body is tight (not tinny) as is the suspension. The Tiguan comes with many options but can also be purchased "bare bones". Being a smaller SUV, it uses less gas. The back seats fold flat for more cargo space.
Story
We just drove from RI to FL (1500 miles) and the Tiguan was very roomy and comfortable.
Pros
Stylish. Handles well. Tight suspension. Small SUV that uses less gas. Comfortable seats.
Cons
Takes premium fuel, although I get away with mid-grade. Turbo uses a lot of gas.
