2013 Volkswagen Routan - Power to spare
My van provides a feeling of security. I use it to drive school children around during fieldtrips. You can imagine the requirements I need in order to give parents a sense that their children are safe and protected in this vehicle.
Story
I remember driving along the coast of Big Sur. We were car camping and I remember stopping along the highway to take pictures of the crashing sea. The fog was rolling in and the timing was just perfect.
Pros
This van provides a feeling of luxury while having space for the entire family. On the road, you feel like you are in command with secure handling and a firm grip even during rainy or windy conditions. During cold weather it also features heated seats which can just whisk away those sore spots over a long drive. The stereo system will keep your passengers happy complete with a drop-down video monitor for the rear seats. One of the most exciting features are the hidden compartments and easy disappearing seats which fold down into the floor. It makes hauling large furniture a breeze.
Cons
Some of the cons are that if it was a white exterior like mine, you will spend more time than you would like to keep it looking clean. Since we are in a drought, being conscious about water use is a concern. Another aspect is the power; this vehicle accelerates smoothly, but it comes at a cost as its gas mileage is not generous. As long as your fuel bill is not a huge concern you will appreciate the extras.
