This is a fun and zippy car. Very good on gas. However, not reliable. Lots of recalls and malfunctions. I had electronic problems. However, I was lucky that everything was covered under warranty. This car is the cheaper version of the Audi a4.
Story
This car was 100% made in Germany. When my friend opened up the hood and read the manuals, he knew it all, since he was German. This car even smells like it came out of a plant in Germany.
Pros
This car has great room. Very responsible and responsive handling. Good on gas. This car is a German Machine. Interior is quality built. This car is a bit on the expensive side, but less than a BMW. Car is good in all weather conditions.
Cons
This car has a lot of recalls. Very problematic. Parts are expensive. Make sure you car is under warranty. Styling is bland. This is more of an older person's car. The interior is not futuristic, navigation design and computers are old/.

The 2015 Volkswagen Passat SEL that I leased is a decent vehicle. The exterior styling is basic in design with nothing outstanding to be noted. The interior is very roomy, which is one of the reasons I considered this vehicle. The interior gives the illusion of some luxury with the addition of faux wood trim instead of the usual plastic trim. It does offer a superior sound system with high-quality speakers. I do not like the faux-suede inserts with the leather seats, as they tend to be harder to clean. My main dislike is of the back-up camera system that takes a full 90 seconds to activate.
Pros
Some of the favorite features of the 2015 Volkswagen Passat SEL is the roominess of the interior compared to other vehicles in this class, both in the front and rear. The suspension is not stiff, which I prefer for a smoother, more comfortable ride. The instruments are positioned well and are easy to see and use. I especially like the controls for the radio, cruise control and phone on the steering wheel, making them very easy and convenient to use. I also love the sound system and the high-quality speakers that come in this model.
Cons
The top negatives of the 2015 Volkswagen Passat are the trunk, the back-up camera and the material used for the seats. The trunk does not offer a light, which makes it hard to see when it is dark. Also, the trunk lid hinge brackets are designed in a manner that can crush items directly underneath when the trunk is being closed. The most important negative that I find with this model is the back-up camera. It takes almost a full 90 seconds for the camera mode to activate when the car is started, leaving it basically useless.
