1990 Volkswagen Passat - Owning a pre-owned Passat
One of my favorite things about my car is that even though it's almost ten years old, it frequently gets mistaken as new! It is fun to drive, and it looks great on the road. With great fuel economy, the upkeep on an older car needs is even more manageable.
Story
I love to get lost on long drives and try to find my way back without using GPS or maps. I was about an hour away from home when I found a beautiful nature preserve. I sat in my car and watched herons fly around a marsh for close to an hour. It was a very comfortable place to watch!
Pros
The style, trim, and interior are very fashionable and have held up so well for a used car! It gets excellent fuel economy and is so fun to drive; it corners and turns quickly and parallel parking it is a breeze. It is a really comfy car to drive in. I travel to schools to do education programming, and it has plenty of space for all of the boxes and wheeled carts I use. The truck is cut a little low, so it's easy for me to put boxes in and take them out even though I'm short.
Cons
I've had several oil leaks with no apparent cause, and the car does take premium fuel, which can be expensive. The dark leather interior can be downright painful in the summer months.
