Used Volkswagen Passat for Sale

Parts are expensive. The car is hard to work on- There was a time when it took 2 minutes to replace a part that took 30 minutes to locate and 2 hours to disassemble/reassemble to replace. There are subtleties to the German engineering that most people scratch their heads over when working on the car. The tires are an odd size and also expensive. There are certain things about Volkswagen that are notorious and bound to happen. The glue on certain electrical panels - for example- drivers window/lock controls has popped out of the hole without reason. I haven't mentioned as of yet that this car is black. I did mention that it had vinyl seats. This car gets EXTREMELY hot in temperature. The worst and most important piece of information to share is the propensity for electrical problems the Volkswagen has. This is my first one but I've already experienced a myriad of electrical problems. I am keen to identify them quickly so that they don't snowball but ultimately, its just the nature of the VW beast. We call it "Christmas Tree-ing"

One thing I don't like is how the CD player functions. It isn't very intuitive as far as changing out CDs. I often find it takes me longer to change out a CD than I find ideal. This discourages me from using the CD player.

Sadly, there are quite a few. It is terrible in the snow. It weighs almost 3,700 lbs., so it is comparable to a small struck. Pair that with a large footprint, heavy frontend, front biased braking, and you have a death trap. Aside from that the gas mileage is not up to par, around 17-23mpg. The fun factor of this car is also non existent due to the lack of power and plush suspension. I feel that these compromises need to be made in order to get a practical daily driver.
