2011 Volkswagen Jetta - Great, affordable car
This car itself is quite handsome. It handles well, and the cost of operating and owning is reasonable. Though there is controversy over the vehicles emissions and the vehicle proves dependable on the road. Gas is sparingly sipped by this small engine on this car, and its automatic transmission makes one-handed operation a snap.
Story
Someone with an identical car came out of a store and started loading groceries into my trunk, then almost called 911 when I hopped out of the driver seat and tried to explain their mix-up.
Pros
The sunroof is one of the easiest I've ever seen to operate. The running lights are as bright as fog lamps. The full-size spare is incredibly easy to swap out. The trunk is huge, and the back seats fold down to allow for extra cargo space.
Cons
The publicity that this brand has received in the last few years does make some drivers on the road look down their nose at you. The microfiber upholstering is of a lower quality than you might find on other manufacturers vehicles, and the color selection from the manufacturer is quite bland.
2004 Volkswagen Jetta - Good car
I got a Jetta right after I turned 16 from my parents. It used to be my dad's car and he had had it for a few years before I got it. The interior of the car was okay. I would say that overall it was a good car. I would consider getting another Jetta in the future. I would also consider getting a different VW vehicle.
Story
I drove it to prom while wearing a huge dress.
Pros
The car never had any major problems while I had it. I often had to drive it long distances (200+ miles). It was always a good car to spend several hours in.
Cons
The seats were covered in a black fabric that really showed stains. The seats were difficult to clean. I also felt that the trunk was too small. The trunk size wasn't an issue when I was in high school. Back then I didn't use it very much. However, once I started college the small trunk was a huge issue. There wasn't a lot of leg room in the backseat. That was an issue whenever I was driving several people although not much of an issue when I was alone.
