I love my car since it is a manual transmission, but it also has steering wheel commands so that I don't have to go far just to change a radio station. It is very energy-efficient. I have only had to change the battery twice on this 14-year-old car.
Story
I enjoyed taking my nephews in this car through downtown Austin where we were able to find parking to parks and the children's museum much more quickly and easily then in their mother's SUV.
Pros
Manual transmission - it makes feel as though I am closer to the car and can tell if something is wrong more quickly. Very smooth gear shifting, very rarely stalls. Seat warmers are my favorite feature during winter time and cold spells, since they warm up almost immediately.
Cons
The air conditioning does not cool as efficiently as the heater works. The computer diagnostics sometimes call out lights being burned out when they are not, but the dealer or German Auto Center can usually by pass the computer issues and reset it.

I loved the fuel economy the most, 45-50mpg on a regular basis. The vehicle was easy to work on, and parts were reasonable. The build quality was also excellent, over 100,000+ miles and no rattles, loose panels or anything that you might expect to see in a vehicle with similar mileage. I loved the 5 speed manual transmission. The back seat was large and roomy, and the rear doors would open straight out to the full width of the opening....Large speaker boxes fit easily. The only issue that I ever had with it, was the engines vibration giving my girlfriend a headache...

Teaching my girlfriend to drive a stick shift. It held up incredibly well!

Diesel rattle. Not very sexy, or fast. Only 90 horsepower. No sunroof.
