I just got this car very recently it was a treat to myself for turning the big 30. I did a lot of research and asked friends and co-workers on their thoughts and tons of research. I knew I wanted to go with Volkswagen but didn't know the model until I got to the dealership and the guy really helped me stay in budget and the kind of car I need for my everyday lifestyle.
Story
Its much more fun to able to take my son to interesting sites that are outside the city. Before we had to rely on public transportation, but with this car we are able to see more things in half the time.
Pros
I love the amount of room it had to offer for the size of the car that was a very nice surprise. Its a smooth ride through and through which is saying a lot when leaving in a busy city.
Cons
The gadgets are hard to navigate with. You know when a feature is hard to figure out when you have to resort to the manual to figure how it works.

This was by far my favorite car I've ever owned when it was running at 100%. The only problem is, it was hardly ever at 100%! I got a tune up the week I got it and drove it everywhere. It was great on gas mileage and handled well in every terrain (City & highway). Unfortunately, the check engine light would come on repeatedly with no indication as to what the actual problem was. It's very frustrating trying to pass inspection with a car when you have no idea what's wrong with it.
Story
This was the vehicle I learned how to drive stick shift in. I drove around my block 2 or 3 times and then drove it straight north for 4 hours to Binghamton University.
Pros
Great on gas mileage and handled most terrains very well. Also the windows rolling down with a turn of the key was a convenient and unique factor.
Cons
Very finicky electronic system and it was sometimes impossible to figure out why the check engine light was on. Also, the car did not handle snow very well.
