The major issues with this car are an invisible leak somewhere in the radiator and problems with the electrical. I often have to fill up the coolant so that the car doesn't overheat, which isn't exactly joyful. Problems with the electrical also randomly cause the alarm to go off. This prevents me from driving the car, which can be a real hassle. The tape deck also burned out at some point, not that that's a terribly big deal in 2013. General maintenance costs on the car are ok, but it can be difficult to find people to do work on a German car where I live, and it would probably cost a lot of money to fix the major things that have gone wrong with the car.

It takes premium gas and the city mileage is not great. When you do need to do maintenance on it- the cost quite a bit more substantial then American cars or other imports. The plastic headlight covers need to be cleaned often, or it can be really hard to see at night. The backseat (when upright for passengers) is not very comfortable, and is hard to get children in and out of.
