2000 Volkswagen Jetta - My best purchase
The Jetta is the oldest car I ever owned and what I liked the most about it is how reliable it is. It has a strange crayon smell that I don like, but it makes up for it in reliability. The trim is a great design, even though it is 16 yrs old it does not look like a very old model. The thing I like most was how easy it is to work on. Repairs are not too expensive and the engine bay has plenty of room to work on.
Story
The most fun I have with this car is taking it to empty parking lots when it snows. my model does not let me turn of the traction control but it still does a good amount of sliding and swerving.
Pros
The prices on repairs are not too expensive and are easy to find. Also customization on this car and model are endless. A huge pro is how easy it is to work on, because it is an older model there is plenty of information online to do your own repairs. Another huge pro is the trunk space, it has tons of space for just about any style of life - if you are a hoarder or are constantly moving.
Cons
What I least like about the car are the strange sounds it makes. It has a very loud screech when started. Also, the interior has a crayon-like smell that never goes away. As far as mechanical issues the thing that has always been an issue was the catalytic converter, they do not last in these cars. Last but not least, this model is known for having very faulty window regulators.
