2013 Volkswagen Golf - City Car? Yes.
It offers the feel of luxury simply by way of all the buttons and compartments that make the interior of the vehicle feel overwhelmingly charitable in gadgetry. I was discovering new features for months after purchase. Despite the fact that it is a compact vehicle, the interior overhead space is generous- so you don't feel like cramped or limited. It actually has more headroom than the Audi A4! The turning radius, is exceptional and the size of the car allows you to park just about anywhere. Unfortunately, the mpg was NOT what was advertised. Between city and highway driving, I probably average 23 miles per gallon. Still, it's better than a lot of other cars on the road. The vehicle quite quiet in the city, however highway driving is quite loud.
Story
Picking up my brother at the airport. He's 6' and just an all around big guy. He looks at my car and says, I don't think I'm going to fit. He was truly hesitant to attempt getting in the front seat. Finally he gets in and laughs, "This car is deceiving".

2013 Volkswagen Golf - Practical yet fun
The German-built hatch back is solid as a rock, with smooth handling and suspension. It can be hard to find manual transmissions in this day and age, and this one is so fun to drive. The hill assist is very helpful with street parking. The dashboard interface is very intuitive and useful in keeping up with my car's diagnostics. The small size lets me park anywhere, while the hatchback and fold-down back seats make it able to still do some minor hauling if necessary. I somehow feel like my car cares about me. It'll alert me if the weather gets cold outside, if my tire pressure is low, and even slows down the wipers while I'm at a stop. The stereo is amazing, and the seats are comfy. This car is perfect for a young single woman who wants a little fun in her commute.
Story
We have a local road that is a beautiful wiggle along the coast that is a driving favorite. That road was the first adventure I went on with my car. I went down the coast around sunset time with the windows rolled down and some great tunes on. This was a great initiation to my brand-new car, and it connected us from then on.
Pros
Cost, quality, fun to drive
Cons
Base model, not great MPG
