2012 Volkswagen Golf - Golf Love
I am so in love with my 2012 Golf! It's so easy to drive, and it's supremely comfortable. The quality is excellent, particularly for the price point. It's a great looking car too: the design is full of history too. The heritage of the old Rabbits is clear in the modern design. All of the controls are easy to figure out and use. Everything is rather intuitive, there's nothing about the basic controls that isn't clear and logical. It's a car I'm proud to own.
Story
While I normally drive the car around the city, I frequently take the car on trips to my family, which is about a 14 hour drive. The car is extremely comfortable even after such a long time. The first drive down was almost exhilarating, just getting to take my new car on a fun and dynamic drive.
Pros
I love the design: I'm an avid fan of cars that show off their heritage in a modern way, and this car does just that. Driving the car is easy, fun, and comfortable. It's a car that actually requires and facilitates humanity, rather than one that makes you feel like a vapid android commuting from point A to B. The manual transmission is easy to drive and engaging. The features' controls are easily accessible both while driving and as a passenger. Mileage is fantastic, I easily average 30 mpg driving almost exclusively in a downtown area.
Cons
The only con I see is just an effect of owning the standard 5-cylinder model. I can definitely see the advantages of having the GTI model, when it comes to power. The Golf has enough power, but having more would be nice for quick bursts.
