2010 Toyota Yaris - Perfect Little Economy Ride
I like that it's compact but 4 door. It's enough room for most of the people who've typically had to get in it. What I like about the size is that I can get into parking spaces that others have parked horribly in. I also like that it's great on gas. During the years when gas was creeping to $3.00 a gallon, it took a lot more to fill up than I was used to but it was still tolerable. Now that gas is about $1.90 in my area, it took just $19 to fill up from being on E. I also like that it rides very well and runs quiet.
Story
Not long after I bought it, I parked somewhere and when I got out, realized I had a lot of space in front of me. I was used to my previous car (a 2000 Camry) and didn't realize I didn't need as much space in front with the Yaris because it's so short.
Pros
The gas mileage and size. The fact it's not expensive to maintain is a plus for me, considering I've hit some unexpected financial hard times over the past couple of years.
Cons
Other than the fact the front seat cup holders are in front of the A/C vents and the console is dead smack in the middle of the car rather than in front of the steering wheel, I don't have anything bad to say.
2012 Toyota Yaris -
I was initially drawn to the 2012 Toyota Yaris because of its compact sporty design, which I felt was fitting for a young petite girl, and I couldn't be happier with that aspect of the vehicle. The car is, in my opinion, the perfect size. Unobtrusive from the outside yet surprisingly spacious on the inside. My boyfriend, who is 6 feet tall, also did not feel cramped driving my car, which I feel speaks to its versatility for different types of people. The hatchback trunk allows for great storage space as well. However, those who have families or who routinely drive around more than two people, may find that the backseat is a little small and hard to get in and out of (the car is a two door). I am finding now that it is hard to get my baby in and out of her car seat, which is situated in... (more)
Story
Taking my Yaris on a road trip from Florida to Atlanta, Georgia, and stopping to camp at state parks along the way.
Pros
Reliable, good on gas, no frills, compact size.
Cons
Small backseat. Faulty windshield wipers.
