This truck has been the most reliable vehicle I've owned. In the past I have owned Chevrolet and Ford vehicles and my Toyota Tundra has been the most reliable. In addition to the reliability of the Tundra, it was also very easy to work on. Changing my own oil and doing minor modifications like shocks, struts, and brake pad changes myself, has saved me quite a bit of money. The truck rides very smoothly, even smoother than my dad's Ford F-150. I have changed out the shocks and struts, but even with factory equipment, it has a smooth ride to it. The ability to tow items behind the truck has been a lifesaver. From boats to football equipment, it has bailed me out of a few jams. the interior cab of the truck is spacious and can easily fit 5 to take with the items that you are towing all ov... (more)
Story
The ability to haul items has been the best feature of my truck. I was able to use my truck to haul my dad's boat when his truck broke down for our annual fishing trip. The reliability of this truck is second to none and it saved our fishing trip which are priceless memories for my family.
Pros
The truck is easy to work on. Everything is quite accessible in the truck. It is very reliable. It is very rugged and takes a beating without skipping a beat. The ability to haul items much heavier than the truck is an added bonus.
Cons
It doesn't get very good gas mileage for a vehicle, but for a truck, it does get quite good mileage.

I purchased my 2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 eight months ago. I had been working as a Toyota car salesman and had just transitioned into working as a Toyota automotive technician. Needless to say, I got to know Toyotas pretty well and I liked what I saw. When I finally bought my truck, I was not disappointed in what I found. The body looks great. It is not over-sized like a lot of trucks these days yet its not small like a Ranger. The interior is roomy. I have the crew cab edition and there is plenty of leg room for four full grown men to be comfortable. The cloth seats are durable. My fat black lab can sit on the seats without leaving a scratch; the dirt brushes right off without leaving a trace. Above all the main reasons I like my truck is that is that it keeps my wife and me safe from de... (more)
Story
Fishing. My wife and I love to throw the equipment in the bed of the truck and head out for the evening. This truck has been part of that experience ever since we got it.
Pros
It is very reliable. I have not had to do anything accept normal maintenance and I do not think that will change. The engine is also just the right size. It provides plenty of power without being too touchy.
Cons
The only con I have found is the fuel economy. I only get 12 miles per gallon in the city and 15-17 miles per hour on the highway. This is not terrible but it is less than a lot of new trucks.
