2008 Toyota Tundra - Most reliable trucks
I love the luxury and power of this truck. We are able to tow boats and trailers with ease. The extended cab offers lots of leg room for passengers and plenty of room to stretch out in the back. We use this truck for many camping trips. We are able to completely fill the bed of the truck and still easily navigate off-road while searching for our camping spots. There is wear and tear within the vehicle. The lining on the roof is starting to sag, and the center console is loose. There is also some bubbling of the paint on the roof and hood of the truck.
Story
My favorite trip was a rock climbing trip with my sons Boy Scout troop. A car full of excited boys and an exciting trip. Best trip ever.
Pros
My favorite features of this truck were the power and durability. We were able to go anywhere we needed to go with a truck full of camping gear. I felt like I was in a dependable vehicle that would not leave me stranded.
Cons
I was disappointed in the way the interior began to sort of fall apart. We always take great care of our vehicles yet the lining on the ceiling began to sag much sooner then I believe it should have. The bubbling of the paint on the roof and hood were also disappointing. There seemed to be no reason for this. But all cons are from a physical standpoint not performance.
2000 Toyota Tundra - Affordable, reliable Tundra
The Tundra gets great mileage for a truck -- we've seen ~25 mpg on the highway. It's reliable, partially because it uses older technology (our windows are rolled up by hand). We've done regular maintenance on the truck, and beyond that, we've had no issues with the motor or other components. It's also a nice size. Big enough to carry a large load -- we've used it to transport construction materials -- and pull some campers but not a huge gas guzzler. It also feels safer than very large vehicles, which can have bad visibility and feel too wide for many roads. It has a good safety record. The 4WD is reliable. We live in snow country and use it all winter. It's a very practical car to have in the mountains. For us it's irreplaceable. It's 18 years old and, therefore, has a low blue book, ... (more)
Story
We took it to a campground in the Hope Valley and stayed overnight. We added a shelf in the back and bought a very comfy futon. We had all our gear under the shelf (and our dog) and slept on top. We had a nice dinner at a nearby restaurant, which we felt good about splurging on since we saved $200 by not staying at the lodge.
Pros
Gas mileage, price, not too big, safe, and good Consumer Reports review.
Cons
Seat comfort

2008 Toyota RAV4 - Hertz Car Sales Pasadena
Easy, no haggle pricing. Salesman didn't not pressure at all, explained everything clearly, and was friendly. Price on used car was great, and Hertz allows you to rent the car for 3 days before deciding on whether to buy or not.
