2005 Toyota Tundra - My truck has proven to be dependable, reliable, and easy to maintain.

I think the 2005 Tundra is a fantastic vehicle. The maintenance costs are low, it has plenty of power, does great in the snow and mud, and unlike many things in my life, has always been there when I needed it. It is a good-looking vehicle, and still gets peoples attention when I pull into a parking space. I like the fact that it is a tiny bit smaller than most full-sized trucks, because it leaves me more room to get in and out of tight spaces, and yet is roomy enough for 4 adults with plenty of cargo space in back.
Story
One winter the neighborhood was entirely snowed in. Several feet of snow lay on top of a thick layer of ice all throughout the area. Only my Tundra and I were able to get out, and I spent several days ferrying groceries and prescriptions to my elderly neighbors who had no other means of obtaining them.
Pros
The interior is quite ample, with room for four adults. I am a large man, and there is plenty of headroom and room behind the steering wheel, which is something I can't say of a lot of vehicles. It gets decent gas mileage on the highway, and has never failed to start on me. I also like the fact that many of the systems on the truck are easy for me to repair myself, such as the brakes, spark plugs, filters, etc...
Cons
The skid plates are a pain to remove to get access to parts under the truck, and the design of the power steering tubing makes for a very involved and expensive repair process after 10 years of wear and tear. I was also somewhat concerned about the two recalls the truck. The first was for potential rust issues in the frame, which while not a problem on my vehicle, is certain to affect the resale value. The second is an airbag recall affecting many manufacturers, but which has not yet been resolved and so causes me anxiety, since I won't know if I am affected unless it is deployed in an ac... This is the best truck that I've ever driven. I dare say its probably one of the best on the road today. The truck with it's 5.7 L V8 has all the power I'll ever need. It's styling is fantastic. However, the way it drives and rides is what sold me. It is smooth, quiet, and extremely tight and responsive. This truck will work had but still look good enough to go out on the town at night.
Story
On a recent camping trip, we were driving around looking at the campsites. I noticed one gentlemen staring at my truck. I thought he was admiring it till I got to the other side of the campsite and saw that he had the exact same truck as mine including the color. We both waved and smiled at each other.
Pros
The power is exceptional for a standard pickup truck. It can pull more load than most standard trucks. It is very comfortable to drive or ride in. The back seat is very roomy. It has a JBL sound system and it is absolutely fantastic. One of the things I like most about this truck is the placement of all the controls. Toyota does a very good job of locating the controls where they are natural and comfortable to use without being a distraction while you are driving.
Cons
Fuel mileage is not the best. I get around 15 mpg driving around town and when I'm pulling a camper, it drops to around 9 mpg. I guess that's the tradeoff for the power from the 5.7 L V8. Another potential problem I've seen is that the paint appears to be a little thin. My truck is black and even a minor mishap can go through the black paint showing small scratches.

2014 Toyota Tundra - Excellent quality and excellent ride.

This is an excellent truck for traveling. We use it on trips instead of our car because there is so much space for traveling. It has a cover over the bed for storage of all of our items. It looks sleek, too. It has a beautiful design inside and out.
Story
We used it a couple of weeks ago to visit Mimi and Pap. Since we had a truck we were able to bring some firewood home that we could burn in our fireplace.
Pros
It has an excellent radio/sound system. It has a lot of room in the back seat so that our son is able to sit with his car seat in the back. With the truck we had before, we were unable to put a car seat in the back so that is nice. It has a smooth ride on the road. We like sitting up high when we are on a trip because you can see your surroundings better.
Cons
It sits up so high that it can be difficult to get into. It is too high to pull into the garage at our house so it has to be parked outside.
