I love my Toyota Sequoia. It feels very sturdy when driving it. I like how it sits up high and has a lot of power. This car is built very solid and is a very heavy car. There is so much room and all of the seats, dashboard, buttons feel very high quality and sturdy. The car is very quite. The car has 4 wheel drive and it works very well. I love that this car has 8 cup holders. There is a sun roof which is wonderful. I have driven it over 30000 miles so far and been overall impressed. The seats are power and work well. There is a third row of seats which are very good to have. I have loaded this car down with a whole set of drums, guitars and amps all at the same time and it all fit very well inside. The car looks very sporty and gets me down my rough road that I live on. The towing is ... (more)
Story
My husband and I went riding down very rough back roads with all windows, back glass and sunroof down with the stereo very loud and got stuck. We were able to finally get out because of the 4 wheel drive. We kept the stereo going the whole time.
Pros
4Wheel drive, sunroof, all the rooms that is inside
Cons
The car is very big so it is hard to back into small spaces and it uses a lot of gas.

I bought my 2002 Sequoia LTD in 2015 with 180,000 miles on it and have put an additional 40,000 miles on it so far and have been very satisfied with its build quality, ease of maintenance, and reliability. I try to perform my own maintenance and parts replacement as much as possible, and I take it to a shop for everything else. My mechanic says that it has a strong engine that should last past 300,000 miles. I have driven it off-road several times and have been surprised at what it can handle.
Story
I wore out my front discs driving on mountain roads by overusing my brakes. I wasn't used to driving an automatic transmission, so I didn't down-shift like I would have with a manual transmission. I just stepped on the brakes. Bad idea! After getting the rotors replaced, the mechanic told me that you can down-shift manually with an automatic transmission, utilizing engine braking, to reduce sp... (more)
Pros
Toyota has a great reputation for building quality engines, and their automatic transmissions are also long-lasting. I can attest to this with my experiences so far. When I was shopping for a used SUV, I thought about purchasing an old Suburban or Tahoe, but every single one on the market had a rebuilt engine. That indicated to me that the engines were not built to last. None of the Toyota SUVs on the market had rebuilt engines, so that told me something, too. After I bought my Sequoia, I started noticing that there were a ton of them still on the road, still looking good and going strong.... (more)
Cons
The lift gate latch stopped working a few months after I purchased the vehicle. I took it to my local shop, after decided that it was too complicated to fix myself. The latch utilizes a metal cable that stretches over time and eventually elongates to a point where it will not work. That was a minor issue that didn't change my overall opinion or satisfaction with the vehicle. Any vehicle over ten years old is going to have some things that wear out, and as long that they do not require thousands of dollars in repairs, I'm fine with it.

This vehicle has been a wonderful vehicle for my family. It is a medium sized SUV that fits us all more than comfortably. It has 3rd row seating and fits both my children's car seats perfectly. We purchased this vehicle with 160,000 miles on it and were never hesitant with the purchase. We have not had one problem with the car since we purchased it 9 months ago. We have traveled several times with it and it's been a great runner. It has no problems going up and down steep mountain grades/passes. Overall this has just been a great car for our family and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a new vehicle.
Story
Taking our first family trip down south. An 8 hour drive in this vehicle was a breeze! We had a blast and fit all our traveling gear perfectly. We also went to a concert and tailgated out the back with the truck open and the kids were able to have room to play with their toys in the back! Wonderful time.
Pros
Our favorite things about this vehicle would be the third row seating which allows our family to have a ton of room in the vehicle. We are even able to bring our dog! Another feature we like is the sun roof. It's nice to have it open on cool spring nights. We also love that it has heated seats!! I am always cold so this helps in the cool rainy winter months. I love how easy it is to put the back seats down in case we have to transport something larger in the vehicle. I also love the fact that Toyota brand cars and trucks can get over 300,000 miles with little to no issues. We love this car!
Cons
The only negative thing about this vehicle would be the back truck key lock has pushed through. We are unable to open our truck currently and need to get it fixed. That honestly has been the only issue or negative thing that I would have to say about this vehicle. And honestly for that to be the only problem is not an issue at all.
