2008 Toyota RAV4 - Raving about the Rav 4
I love this vehicle. Its 40 without being bulky like other SUVs tend to be. It gets great gas mileage. I've always been afraid of driving in the rain because I've been in cars that have hydroplaned before, but the rav4 always go where I want it to even in the worst weather. It's a reliable vehicle that my entire family feel safe in. The seats are easily converted for someone of a small stature like me to someone of a large stature like my husband.
Story
Because the seats aren't too bulky and there's a lot of space in between the driver and passenger seat I can always look in on my kids. One day we were at Sonic getting sandwiches and I happened to look in the back seat and both of my kids are sticking out their tongues and making funny faces. So I just pulled up my phone stuck out my tongue and snapped one of my favorite portraits of me and m... (more)
Pros
I love the power windows and my ability to lock them so that my children can't roll them down from the back seat. The back seat is about a foot wider than the older models of this car which is great for having enough space for a large family. The back of the car has plenty of space for my groceries without taking away from the comfort of the vehicle. I also love that there's a rear tire well so that the tire spare is not in the car underneath a bunch of mats.
Cons
Despite the fact that I love this car there are a few issues I have with it. The back windshield wiper sometimes does not respond. I have also had problems with the light above the license plate. I do wish the roof of the car with higher because my husband happens to be very tall and there's not a lot of space between his head and the roof. My biggest problem with this car is the fact that there's not an adaptor plug so that I can plug in my mp3 player or phone. If this was not possible I would have liked to have had a cassette tape slot in order to use a cassette tape adapter.
2004 Toyota RAV4 - Great and affordable
The car is designed very well. It has a surprising amount of storage and seating space. The road noise is a bit loud, but it isn't terrible and nothing rattles while driving. I frequently drive four-hour trips without stopping, and this car handles the trips very well. I've never had a problem with it, aside from the A/C leaking once, but it was an easy fix. We call it Ravioli.
Story
My friends and I went to a renaissance festival in this car. I drove for 2.5 hours on highways and freeways, and the car did fine. We packed an ice chest in the back for lunch, and there was plenty of room for us to sit back there and eat in the shade while we tried to cool down. Some of the pine needles got into the car, and it was very quaint (and easy to clean!).
Pros
The car is very compact but not small at all. It isn't short like a lot of cars, so you don't feel like a bug about to get smushed on the highway. It handles turns very well and makes driving seem easy. The seats are very comfortable, and the storage space in the back is more than adequate. The two back seats can also be removed for even more storage space, which is awesome. It can also accelerate pretty quickly.
Cons
There aren't too many negatives with this car, but the biggest is the road noise. Since I travel at high speeds frequently, it can get a little loud but isn't something I would sell the car over. It can also get hot in the back seat, though I live in a southern area, so that is expected. However, it is outdated and lacks some of the nicer updates to cars.
