Toyota RAV4 Owner Ratings & Reviews

2007 Toyota RAV4 - Generally reliable
The vehicle was really reliable initially, maybe in the first few years. However, in the last two–three years (from present day), it started having new problems every few months. There would be air conditioning problems, brake problems, oil problems, and alignment problems. The overhead sun blocker broke and had to be replaced. Eventually, it became too expensive and tedious to keep fixing the car that I traded it in for a new, updated, 2017 version of the same car.
Story
Taking my kids to sports competitions. This was a perfect vehicle for occasions like those.
Pros
It had a lot of space for the entire family, and when I picked up my kids from sports practice, I didn't have to worry about finding enough room to fit their (bulky) equipment because there was always plenty of space. The screen that hides your trunk items was also a nice touch. I liked the stereo system. It was simple and had the option to plug in mobile devices to play music. I also felt like I got a fair amount of MPG whenever I filled up the tank.
Cons
As mentioned above, it kept breaking down in the last two–three out of ten years. I guess that's expected from an old car, but I've seen people who have cars from the '90s that are still driving them because they're so reliable. It would have been nice to have that kind of reliability with my car, given that I started to constantly worry that something new would break down, especially on the highway.
2016 Toyota RAV4 - Raves for RAV-4.
I like the RAV-4 because I trust Toyota vehicles based on previous ownership experience. The base level 2017 RAV-4 LE comes standard with safety features that I appreciate, like lane assist, rear back-up camera, automatic headlights and automatic safety braking. I like sitting up high in a vehicle so I can see over traffic. The back passenger seat feels roomy and comfortable. I like the ability to easily put the rear seats down for more cargo room. I like that two years of maintenance is included with my new vehicle. The heating and cooling systems work well. The 2016 version is quite that the 2006 V-8 model I owned previously.
Story
I remember my excitement driving home from the dealership with my new car. I love the red color. It feels so sporty.
Pros
My favorite things are the safety features, which make me feel more secure. I also like the ability to see my fuel economy and know how many miles I can drive with the amount of gas in the tank. The seats in the LE model are comfortable. I like the optional cargo net that can be installed in the rear that keeps groceries and packages from sliding around.
Cons
Some features I was interested in were not available in the LE model, like driver lumbar support and fog lights. So many of the RAV-4 models I looked at had a black interior which can get warm in sunny areas. The black cloth seats collect lint and need to be vacuumed frequently.

2015 Toyota Tacoma - Toyota San Luis Obispo
They were really helpful and not pushy at all. They listened to the kind of driving I do and tried to find me the best match. I feel like they were very honest which is important.
2007 Toyota Yaris - Autonation Toyota Buena Park
I would not call this dealership the best. They were tolerable to deal with. I eventually got a car from them. That was the best part of the whole experience.
