2006 Toyota RAV4 - 2006 Toyota Rav 4
I enjoy my Rav4, It gets around well in the winter, even when the roads were not plowed. I have had no major mechanical issues. It also gets reasonable gas mileage for this vehicle style.
Story
I really enjoy taking this to the 88 Drive In in Denver. There is room to "make camp" comfortably and relax.
Pros
This vehicle has plenty of room for four passengers, I am 6'5" and a bit hefty but can make long trips comfortably. It has a good amount of rear storage and a few compartments to help keep things out of the way. It is a smooth and comfortable ride with plenty of clearance during snowy and windy winters.
Cons
I did not have a good place to put in after market stereo equipment without the amplifier having heat issues. I also needed to use a smaller subwoofer to keep it concealed.
2016 Toyota RAV4 - Loving the RAV4.
The 2017 Toyota RAV4 is a fantastic vehicle. It was the first vehicle I have ever purchased/leased new, and I'm loving it. It is a quiet, comfortable, smooth ride and has just enough room for our small family. The gas mileage is average to good, and the safety features outshine the competition by far. On top of all that, it's sleek, stylish, and fun to drive!
Story
Once when driving over a mountain pass, we hit bad weather, and enough snow accumulated on the front bumper that I got a notice that the collision detection system was unavailable. I pulled over and cleaned the snow off anything that looked like a sensor, but it still wasn't working. Being a computer technician, I tried rebooting it -- turned the car off and back on again. Pros
As I mentioned, the safety features are paramount. The early collision warning /assisted braking, lane departure alert, and adaptive cruise control all make me feel like I have a cushion of safety around the vehicle that the car itself helps control and maintain. The Toyota brand is reliable and trustworthy, and I feel a lot better transporting my family from place to place in this car. I also love the back-up camera, this is the first vehicle I've ever had with one, and it's a game-changer in parking lots!
