2009 Toyota Prius - Great, practical car
When I bought my used beige Prius, I thought I was buying a boring, nondescript commuter car. I fell in love with the way it performed, though. It drives like a dream, sips gas, and has taken me on road trips to both Portland, Maine, and Portland, Oregon, in two short years.
Story
I went on a cross-country trip solo with my Prius, and it worked perfectly. I threw my camping gear in the back, had a cooler of snacks up front, and the Prius climbed over hill and dale and mountain and forest just fine.
Pros
I love the gas economy of the vehicle and the display where I can adjust the temperature, audio mix, radio station, etc. I love that I can see how many miles of gas per tank I am getting and trying to game more mileage out of each tank. I use the trunk all of the time to load materials for my small business, and it's amazing how much I can carry in there.
Cons
My Prius doesn't have great traction control in slick or icy conditions and is a bit low to the ground.
2005 Toyota Prius - Worth it.
Great gas mileage. Comfortable to ride in. Still to this day looks like a new car!
Story
Road trip from one coast to the other - $350. Need I say more?
Pros
Gas mileage is great. It is comfortable to ride in.
Cons
Battery did go out which I hear is actually rare. It really wasn't anything near what I heard it would cost to replace. Now I have another 200k to put on her!
