I had never considered getting a Prius. However, once I started looking into purchasing a new vehicle, I realized I could not afford a car payment unless the car subsidized the car payment in some way. I saw that Prius' were getting in the neighborhood of 50 miles per gallon and compared to my previous 22 miles per gallon, I started to see the practicality of a Prius. I did more research as was able to find a 2007 Prius Touring Edition in my price range. The Prius has been wonderful! It has around 90,000 miles on it and the batteries are still in brand new condition; I am getting 50 miles to the gallon between around town driving and highway driving. I was afraid that the Prius would not have enough power, being an all electric vehicle, but I've never once wanted for more power. Additi... (more)
Story
We took our bikes, tents and associated gear camping in Moab. My husband said there was no way it would all fit, but it did! We even accidentally took the Prius on a super sandy, un-maintained road, but it did great!
Pros
The top positive feature of this car is the amount of room it has. The seats are very easy to collapse and we can fit any amount of stuff in it. The wagon back also helps to fit more into it. Additionally, it has been a very reliable vehicle.
Cons
The car has a very light interior which makes it prone to staining; that is the only con we have noticed in the time we've owned the vehicle. It can also be slightly uncomfortable sitting in the car for long periods of time, such as on road trips.

I LOVE MY PRIUS! We decided to shop around for one since my husband would be driving 38 miles one way to work and it would save us a ton of money. Plus, my dad has a 2006 Prius and it has over 210K miles and he's never had to replace a thing! We only test drove 2, one was an '07 basic model with 92K miles and the other was an '08 Touring edition with 52K miles...which one would you choose for a difference of $2,000 (warranty on the battery, no warranty, leather interior and GPS, cloth interior and no navigation? The Prius is roomy and of course gets great gas mileage and is quiet. The space in the car is utilized in a smart way. My biggest dislike is that the dash is very bright at night and I'm not very tall, so the green light from the digital dash illuminates across the windshield, ... (more)
Story
The weekend after we bought our Prius, we drove it to my parent's house (really excited that the whole trip in gas would cost only about $25) and we put our dog in the back, with is being a hatchback. We used to have to put him in the floor board and he's a good sized dog. He was so happy and even with our luggage for the four of us, he had more than half the are to himself and could still pee... Pros
Here are my top 10 Pros of my Prius: 1) I love the Back-up camera 2) It is HUGE and roomy 3) The leather seats of the Touring edition have much more stability and firmness than the cloth seats 3) Gas mileage, gas mileage, gas mileage! 4) Hatch back give lots of trunk space 5) The under storage in the trunk 6) Quietness of the car/engine 7) The inside looks super futuristic, no other hybrid comes close 8) Battery warranty for 90,000 miles 9) Sound system is JBl 10) The touch screen shows you you're average consumption and lots of other cool things, like having a phone book and navigation
Cons
Things that could be better on my Prius: 1) I wish it had height adjustment in the seat (again I'm short), I understand that this could possibly mess up the balance of the car leading to a lower fuel efficiency, but it doesn't have to be electric, it could be "pump" style 2) The dash: I don't like where the speed limit is located as the light from it at night impairs my vision (my tall husband and average-height father do not have these issues) 3) New Prius' are very expensive, I was a little concerned about the price of mine but in all the consumer reviews and look ups we did, we got a b...
