Toyota Prius Owner Ratings & Reviews

2003 Toyota Prius - Efficient Reliable Eco Friendly
The Toyota Prius, when purchased, was state of the art, but the styling is a bit goofy and is very obviously an eco-friendly car. It was a comfortable car that had the perfect amount of room for everyone. The trunk was the standard sedan size. I loved the gas mileage of the car, but the styling didn't exactly fit my own personal style. The car performed well, I never had any complaints about the acceleration and braking. It is a reliable car that got me safely to my destination. Of the three years that I owned this vehicle I don't recall needing any repairs.
Story
I don't have any fun stories.
Pros
My favorite feature of the vehicle was gas mileage. On a weekly basis I definitely spent less on gas than I did on my previous vehicle. I really enjoyed the keyless feature as well it was very convenient and I think added to the modern feel of the car. This car is very reliable and great for families, it is low maintenance and cost effective.
Cons
The styling of the vehicle is not the most pleasant thing to look at. For a man it is basically the mini van version of a sedan. It screams a specific type of person is driving this car, the lines are not sleek and the car is definitely not meant to be enjoyed for its looks. It can be embarrassing to drive around in a more up and coming neighborhood with a sea of sports car.
2008 Toyota Prius - Smooth ride and fantastic gas mileage
I absolutely love everything about this car, but the gas mileage is the best. I don't drive very much to begin with, but even so, I am certain that this car has saved me hundreds of dollars on gas. Even though it is an older model, it still runs great.
Story
One of the first weekends I had this car, we took it out for a hike in Santa Monica. It was really nice driving along the PCH with the windows down!
Pros
In addition to the great mileage, I really like the style and the color (it's red). The interior is a nice, buttery grey leather. The visibility is excellent, and steering and shifting gears is so smooth and intuitive. The seats are all really comfortable, and the inside of the car feels very roomy. The hatchback and back seats that fold down allow me to store so much stuff in the back if needed. The vehicle I purchased also had some nice add-ons, including JBL speakers, which sounds really good.
Cons
The design can be a little polarizing, but I personally love it. Because it's an older model, it's missing some of the more recent additions that newer cars have. Most notably, it doesn't have a USB plug in to allow for phone charging and playing music. I have been able to get around this by using a traditional lighter plug and auxiliary cable, which works just fine.
