This car has served me well for the past five years. I am the third owner and I knew the previous owners as well. Even though it is a hybrid car I would say that it is no more expensive to maintain that a traditional car, which is something I was worried about when I first bought it. I have driven this car up and down the east coast several times and it has held up well to the challenge. It has been very reliable and hasn't left me stranded yet (knock on wood!). 14 Years later, the gas mileage it gets is no longer ground breaking, but is still competitive with other recent traditional cars. Since it is a hybrid it recharges on breaking which means it gets great gas mileage in the city, making it great for commuting.
Story
I've driven it up and down the east coast several times. I love driving it in the summer with the windows down!
Pros
The things I like best about this car is the gas mileage. I also like the MPG display, it is like a game trying to see how high you can get it.
Cons
A little loud (road noise wise)

Great car, and great on gas. Compact, so it is easy to drive, and easy to fit in small parking spaces. Makes parallel parking very easy. In 2014, the car started breaking down frequently because the battery had to be replaced which cost $1,500. Since then, there have been no issues other than the A/C still doesn't work.
Story
Being able to drive to my parents house 2 hours away and having it be cheaper than taking a train.
Pros
Great gas mileage. Reliable, affordable, and safe car. Easy to drive, and a very quiet car.
Cons
After seven years the air conditioning stopped working. Battery replacement cost $1,500. Not very up to date; the interior doesn't have a CD player, place to plug in USB, or AUX cable.
