2013 Toyota Prius - Great car!
I've had the Prius for almost a year now. We got it in December of last year. It's a great car. It's very attractive grey and futuristic looking. The hatchback trunk is great and roomy. It can fit lots of groceries or our baby stroller without any problems. I love having a hatchback instead of a regular trunk because I can use it as a surface to change the baby's diaper in a pinch! We have not had a single technical problem with the car. It drives very smoothly on the highway. The fuel economy is terrific, even for city driving - almost always above 40 MPG. You have the option of turning ECO mode on or off so that you can get more pickup on the highway, that's a great feature. I love that it tells you the MPG you just achieved every time you turn off the car. It's very comfortable, too... (more)
Story
When we went to get the car inspected, we got stuck in traffic because of a Donald Trump rally. It took us a long time to get to the dealership!!
Pros
Great fuel economy. That's my absolute favorite thing. Attractive car. Very comfortable and love the customizable seat options.
Cons
The controls are a bit complicated - that would be my only complaint.
2013 Toyota Prius - Wonderful Car
I initially bought my Prius for the gas mileage, which I do get (and then some). It's got a great interior and TONS of storage space. Contrary to what I've read elsewhere, the seats are definitely comfortable and the entire interior is very well-designed.
Story
Priuses are becoming more common and seeing others around makes you feel like you're in a little club of Prius owners
Pros
Giant trunk with true fold-flat seats, gas mileage is phenomenal (I often get above 50MPG on extremely hilly terrain without even trying), smart styling, the two glove boxes seemed silly at first but it is extremely useful, Bluetooth and free apps (which is annoyingly rare in cars these days), tons of space in the trunk above the tire, it came with a rolling cargo cover for free!, one of the earliest cars to have a backup camera, the Persona series comes in a lovely limited edition color, it came standard with actual hubcaps, the car has some serious zip if you know what you're doing.
Cons
The car doesn't have heated mirrors/auto-dimming rearview/heated seats/auto lights/ANY auto braking/etc - these features were only available on the highest trim level for some reason; gas mileage is SEVERELY hurt by hilly terrain, although this is more thanks to physics. The warranty can be a pain because you have to take the car in every six months or it's invalidated.
