The Toyota Prius is a great car, especially for young people and students. I have had 2 Prius' in the past 2 years because I got into a car crash with my first (2004). In this car crash, my car was totaled, but everyone in my car walked out without a scratch.
Story
In Kansas City, we have the Plaza Lights every year after thanksgiving. I enjoy cruising down the plaza admiring the beauty of the Plaza Lights.
Pros
Some of the pros are obviously the gas mileage and the safety. Only having to pay $20 a week for gas as a college student is huge. My Prius runs very smoothly and I have never had any serious mechanical problems with it.
Cons
One negative aspect is the price of fixing them. My battery was running low and was about to go out so the car notified me, and when I had to get a new battery, it was very expensive. Because the Prius battery is so unique, it costs a lot to buy the battery and find someone to put it in. There was also a minor headlight sensor that went out and that was also very expensive to fix.

My Prius has been an excellent choice and purchase. We live about 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store so it is important to have a vehicle that gets excellent gas mileage. I routinely get about 45 miles per gallon, which means that I can go about 450 miles before I have to gas up again. The interior of the car is comfortable and roomy than expected. The hatchback is a bit awkward with a light bar dividing the back windshield in half, which takes a while to get used to. The hatchback is also limited in size for storage without blocking the rear view. I have a double stroller and once it is in the trunk it is about the only thing that will fit unless I pile stuff on top and block my view. One other wish is that the gas tank was slightly bigger, it fits about 9,5 gallons but I would... (more)

Cons

We've use the same salesman to purchase several vehicles for our company and my personal vehicle. He was very helpful. I haven't had much experience with the rest of the dealership, I've only brought my car in for an oil change after buying it.
