2007 Toyota Prius - I'm quite happy about the car.
I like how the car is environmentally friendly and great for simply getting around town. I like how it works on the highway as well.
Story
Parallel parking the car: even though I had a rear view camera, the first few times I had to parallel park the thing, I had people laughing at me.
Pros
Fuel efficient, smooth handling, great safety.
Cons
Mostly manufactured in Japan thus negating any positive environmental impact.
2006 Toyota Prius - An ideal hybrid.
The Toyota Prius 2nd generation car is a surprisingly and dependable car. I've had it for going on 11 years and it still keeps chugging along well. Like any car it needs maintenance, but I luckily have not had to fix any of the hybrid components of the car. It was advertised as having mileage in the 50s to 60s, which did not pan out in real-world driving. It's more like upper 30s to high 40s, depending on environmental circumstances and the aggressiveness of the driver.
Story
I own the exact same model and color vehicle (blue Toyota Prius) featured in the final scene of the HBO series, Six Feet Under. It is in the montage scene when the character Claire is driving on a desert highway and she sees flashbacks (or maybe it would be better described as flash-forwards) of the stories of the people in her family and of her own life. Pros
My number one reason for buying it: gas mileage.
Cons
Not a muscle car. It can go fast but definitely does not have a sports car feel, so I would best describe the car as nice and utilitarian. Some of the material features are shoddy (center console display came loose and is not easily reattached).
