I absolutely love my Prius. When I bought it, it was already eight years old with about 75,000 miles, but two years and 30,000 miles later, I still haven't had any significant problems. The gas mileage remains exceptional, the ride smooth, and it has all the features I need. I'm not a "car guy," my vehicles just need to get me from A to B, and for those purposes this car has been perfect.
Story
I drive this car everywhere, but my favorite is driving into Washington DC to take my dog for a walk by all the monuments at night!
Pros
The car is comfortable, gets great mileage, and is extremely reliable. Despite being a 2010 it has all the features I could ask for - Bluetooth, GPS, back-up camera, USB ports, etc. It is also very roomy - I fold the back seat down for my dog, and she loves how much room she has to walk around while I'm driving. The reliability is also exceptional; many of my friends purchased new cars more recently than I bought an eight-year-old Prius, and have spent far more on maintenance that I have.
Cons
If you're someone who wants their car to be a status symbol, I guess this probably isn't for you - unless you just want to show people that you're vaguely environmentally conscious. The acceleration is also a bit slow, but not to the point that it's ever a problem.

My initial reactions to the car when I first got into it were positive. However, as time progressed and the car received more wear and tear, it became increasingly apparent that the car was eventually going to break down on me and not in the nicest places nor would it be cheap when it finally did.
Story
The initial reaction to going 600 miles on a single tank of gas. This occurred after I bought it, but even though I did have an initial idea that it would run that long, I honestly couldn't conceive of it first-hand.
Pros
The only pro I would have about this car, that I could say with confidence, is that it truly does live up to its name in terms of hybrid electric. It is because of this that my gas costs were extremely low. However, as regular cars became more efficient, my 2010 eventually did become obsolete as things with more power and more economy came into being.
Cons
There is plenty to say here, but, mind you, I loved my car initially. My first con is the doors sound absolutely hollow when you close them - in that dull thud kind of way, and it did not do much to let me feel safe in the vehicle. Secondly, the car had a weird issue that required the tires to be rotated more often, and if they didn't, the wheels would wear out unevenly. Finally, my biggest gripe that I had with the vehicle is how quickly the suspension would wear out and my tires needed to be rebalanced. This cost me a lot of money over time and is something that I would not want to wish ... (more)
