2013 Toyota Prius - I like my Prius
The gas mileage is excellent. It has a very unique and distinctive shape, (supposedly for ultimate aerodynamics) which I don't mind. I like the color (grey). The inside kind of looks like a spaceship, and I'm a big Star Trek fan. I'm the past, I've been known to lock my keys in the car more than once, however the Prius beeps at me and does not lock if the keys are sensed inside which is an amazing feature for someone like me. Overall, I really like the car.
Story
I drove my old car to a different state to pick it up. I used almost an entire tank of gas to get there. It usually cost me about 30 dollars to fill up my old tank. I remember driving my Prius back and using about an entire tank of gas on the way back as well. I was a bit disappointed until I hit the pump, and the tank only took a little under eight gallons of gas to fill it up. I filled the t... (more)
Pros
Obviously, the gas mileage is the main reason for getting this car. I got the sunroof package with the solar panel. I've never owned a car with a sunroof and love it. The solar panel is a great talking point as well. People seem very curious about it. It's a hatchback, and it's massively spacious. I hauled an entire deck's worth of lumber (for the deck I built) and have gone on road trips and camping multiple times with plenty of room to spare.
Cons
The engine runs intermittently to conserve power. When the engine stops and starts it jerks the whole car. This was unexpected, and I don't really know you would notice this until owning the car. It's very annoying if you are waiting for someone in a parking lot or are trying to take a nap in the car or something. It doesn't handle very well in the snow, I've gotten stuck multiple times - once in my own driveway.
2013 Toyota Prius - Toyota Prius review
When I first purchased the car, I was unsure of what to think. I always heard Toyotas were great cars, but I never have driven one before. After the purchase I was amazed on how durable it seemed. Everything that everyone told me about the Toyota was true. It is by far the best car I have ever owned, and I do not plan on getting any other brand or car in the near future. I found the best deals online and went to the dealership and looked around. I ended up finding a used one in the price range that I was looking for, and it was actually cheaper than I originally though, everything about this Toyota experience was worth it.
Story
Getting in a snow storm with family were behind me, and they all got stuck in the storm, but my Toyota didn't flinch. They had to wait for a tow truck. I have never had problems in bad conditions.
Pros
I feel like the biggest pros to this car is its durability. I live in a area where the conditions are not good, and in the winter time, it can be hard to get to point A and B. But with the Toyota, it makes it very easy with its four-wheel drive, and also it is very good on gas. I couldn't recommend this car enough.
Cons
I have not personally experienced enough cons to warrant a complaint. I have owned the car for about four years now and nothing bad to say.
