This is a good looking vehicle that gets 45 mpg. The paint is white with metallic flecks that gives it a pearl appearance. It has aluminum wheels that makes it look a little sporty. The interior is light beige, and the light color makes it seem larger inside. We haven't experienced any mechanical problems. You only have to change the oil every 10,000 miles. (This was a change made after we purchased the vehicle, so the owners manual says 5,000 miles, and the oil change light comes on at 5,000 miles, which is annoying, but you can reset it.) It's keyless, so it's really easy to get in and out, and you just put the key in your pocket, and you are good to go. The vehicle has a lot of road noise, likely because it doesn't have a lot of insulation to keep the weight down and the gas mile... (more)
Story
We don't take this car very far from our house, but the most fun thing we do with this vehicle is take it to Mount Rainier for hiking. When it's warm and sunny, you can drive up to the mountain twice a week and not worry about the expense of gas. You can listen to your tunes through the Bluetooth, and it's just a nice, enjoyable day.
Pros
The best thing about this car is the fuel economy. The second best thing about this car is its appearance. It's good looking, and I feel like I am being conscientious about the environment when I am driving it. I like the blue tooth for telephone and for audio entertainment. I listen to books when driving, so I can listen to them on the car speaker system using my iPhone.
Cons
The one thing I dislike most about the car is the road noise. I also don't like the hard seats and the heat and defrost are really hard to control. If you use the auto temperature setting, the windows steam up so you have to change it to defrost, but then your feet get cold. There is no way that I know of to turn up the temperature without using the auto setting. There are other aspects too that I dislike (although the pros outweigh the cons): (1) There is limited visibility out the rear of the car. (2) The hatchback doesn't automatically go up. (3) The dashboard is not bright enough w... (more)

My husband and I purchased this vehicle after our second child was born. We were driving a Hyundai Sonata that couldn't hold a double stroller and kept having recalls and other small problems that required maintenance. We wanted a larger vehicle without compromising fuel efficiency. The Prius V ended up being the perfect fit. It fits two car seats comfortably, while allowing me to occasionally squeeze into the center seat between them when the baby was crying. We could fit an extra large double stroller in the back and still have room for bags or other items we might need for the day. It drives very smoothly and has a power mode button for when you need a little extra oomph to accelerate onto an expressway. We have not had any issues with it in the 18 months we have owned it. The only ... (more)

We love using the Prius to visit our local zoo, which is 45 minutes away. It's a comfortable ride there, with good gas mileage, and we can fit the whole family, a double stroller, lunch, extra clothes, diapers, you name it! Everything we could possibly need for a fun day.
Pros
I love the cargo space - we live 30+ minutes from the nearest major stores, and I can easily do two weeks worth of grocery shopping for a family of four, plus fit a bale or two of pine shavings and a 50-lb. bag of feed for our ducks in the back. Fuel efficiency is great. I love having a larger vehicle that still does great on gas!
Cons
Convertible car seat doesn't fit well behind front seats. May just be the model car seat we own - haven't tried others. Doesn't have a windshield washer fluid indicator. I drove around for over a week thinking there was a problem with the system before I realized it was just empty.

This Prius V is everything I wanted in a larger hybrid. It handles well and has plenty of power to get up the mountains, even when loaded with camping supplies. It averages about 42 mpg in city driving. Its features include power windows and locks, built in CD player, cruise control, A/C. It also has a backup camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. The car was purchase in excellent condition as a used vehicle with one previous owner. The only problem the vehicle has is that the trunk sometimes fails to latch when closed. Many mornings I have had to stop and re -close the trunk. It doesn’t spring open in this condition, but does trigger the warning lights and beeping. The car is silver gray and it has working headlights and windshield wipers. After 4 years of driving it still shows no long ... (more)
