2005 Toyota Matrix - Small and compact - perfect for a college student.
I like how small it is but yet spacious on the inside and all the buttons to the radio or A/C unit are basic and easy to get to. The style of the car is also nice, very simplistic and nice shape to it. However, due to its age of over 70,000+ miles on the odometer, there is rattling coming from the dashboard and the trunk.
Story
Going to a parade and covering the car in flags and colors of national colors
Pros
The car is fuel efficient for its age
The interior is easily manageable by adding/removing parts
Back seats go down to allow more trunk space
The glove box is very spacious
Cons
The trunk space is not big enough
The seats are hard to clean since they are fabric and collect dust if not maintained
2006 Toyota Matrix - Toyota Matrix 2006
I recently purchased a used, 2006 Toyota Matrix that's grey in color. It drives pretty well and gets decent gas mileage for the amount of highway time that I use it for and the occasional drive to pick up groceries.
Pros
It gets good gas mileage, I've found. Of course, I tend to drive the speed limit and use the cruise control a lot though. The seats are pretty comfortable as well. The moon/sun roof is nice; it opens and closes pretty smoothly and is a fun addition to my drive. Oh, and the way that the vents in the dash both work and look is pretty nice too. The outside temperature is also displayed in the driver's console, I think that's kind of cool too.
Cons
The clock doesn't always work. I looked it up and it could just be that the wires have come loose or something, but I don't think that I'll take the time to fix it. Also, the cruise control stick works the opposite way that my older car's did. On this one, the button on the end doesn't set the cruise, it turns it on and off. It's a small thing that I know that I'll get used to, but it's just kind of strange. Lastly, the driver's console is set rather deep in the dash, so only the driver can see it.
