Toyota Matrix Owner Ratings & Reviews

2007 Toyota Matrix - Most reliable car I have ever had.
My 2007 Toyota Matrix has been the best car I have ever owned, and I am now committed to the brand because of this. My car has over 120,000 miles on it, and thus far, has never needed any serious repairs. I have only had to do regular maintenance repairs like brake pad replacements and oil changes. I have had to make a few minor repairs such as sealing up some tubing from the A/C with silicone because it was leaking, but it has been an extremely low cost car to own and has never let me down. I love the design of the car especially the hatchback. I like that the back of the rear seats. When you lay down the seats, you have a large flat space to put things. I used to carry my bike in it easily, and now I can fit a child's wheelchair and stroller in the back without laying down the seats.
Story
I have enjoyed being able to throw my bike in the back and go biking at various locations. I could put my bike in the car so I never had to worry about theft or rain.
Pros
The pros of this car are great gas mileage, extremely reliable, very little repair costs and great storage space in the hatchback.
Cons
The cons of this vehicle is the arm rests in the front seat. I find it kind of awkward when driving because there is hardly enough room to rest my left elbow on the door and the middle arm rest is too far back. It's not the most comfortable.
2010 Toyota Matrix - Best car ever.
The Toyota Matrix comes with the Toyota reliability. It is very roomy for a hatchback car. Fits four people very comfortably and has room for groceries and luggage. I like the handling of the car. The price range was great.
Story
It was always a pleasure to drive the car. Folks kept thinking it was a Prius instead of a Matrix!
Pros
The price of the car was great. I wanted a reliable used car. I trusted the Toyota brand. It had great reviews in consumer reports. It had all the features I was looking for. It was a perfect fit for what I wanted and needed at the time.
Cons
The most negative thing about the car is that it is no longer made by Toyota! Also, I had a number of recalls that were annoying. The engine could have been more powerful. Also, I would have preferred more options for adjusting the seats. My model did not have a sunroof.
