2016 Toyota Highlander - Amazing!
I have driven this car all over the U.S. since I bought it. It has continued to run amazingly well. We have a family of 5, two of which, are in car seats and there is plenty of room for everyone, including, the luggage in the back of the car. The car runs smooth and quietly on the highway. The car does not feel big to drive like most of your other SUVs. It fits nicely in the garage without taking up much room. Toyota thought of everything in this car, there is nothing that I would change, but next time getting leather seats.
Story
Just all of the family travel we have done in it. This car has been all thru FL and GA. It's been perfect.
Pros
Tons of room, runs smoothly, lots of storage space, radio and speakers are fantastic. I love how the second row can be moved to give more room to the third row. The second row seats can be leaned back, which helps with sleepy teenagers and/or car seats that need a bit of an angled seat. The front is plenty of room and no one feels crammed in, even when all seats are full.
Cons
I have not found anything negative about this car. I had a couple issues with it when I first received it, but the dealer took car of everything at no cost to me. I have owed numerous Toyotas and this was my first one with a couple issues. I think it was a fluke.
2012 Toyota Highlander - A great family car!
I have driven my Highlander for four years now. It is a great family vehicle. We bought it before we had kids, and now, 2 kids in it still has plenty of room for everything we need to do. It has about 56,000 miles on it, and has needed no major repairs, still drives like new. It is also big enough to potentially fit 8 people, which is a big benefit when carpooling with friends.
Story
We took this car on a 3 hour road trip to run a marathon. There were 5 of us with luggage in the car and it was a little tight. I rode in the far back seat but still felt like I fit easily.
Pros
I like that it has enough room to fit my jogging stroller in the back of the Highlander. My other car will not fit it easily. I can also fit my family of four and luggage for a road trip into the car easily. It drives very nicely, and it is very easy to drive, despite its size. This is my first car of this size and I do not find driving it any more difficult than smaller cars.
Cons
At this point, the music system and connectability is a little outdated. It is not that easy to connect music from our phones through the speaker system, but it is possible. Because of its size, mpg is not that great.
