2008 Toyota Highlander - Reliable, sturdy, nice
I like my vehicle. It is a nice SUV. It is large, and I feel safe in it. The tires are big. It has an automatic back door, so it is nice when I am carrying groceries from the store - I can press the button quite a bit away and the back door automatically opens. The speakers are nice for listening to music. It has fabric seats and I kind of wish it had leather. The middle console is leather, and it got a tiny dog scratch on it which spread to a big tear. The seats lay down so that large items can fit in the back behind the driver and passenger seat.
Story
I took it down a dirt road in a small Oklahoma town, and it got completely covered in dirt.
Pros
My favorite features are the automatic back door and that the seats in the back lay down for extra room.
Cons
I wish it had leather seats.
2016 Toyota Highlander - A great driving, dependable car with loads of room and features.
This is a great family car, especially if you'd like to avoid getting a minivan. The V6 engine has a lot of get up and go, and it handles well and makes for a smooth driving experience. The outside is sleek and stylish. It has classy leather interior, lots of room and great hidden 3rd-row seating that is comfortable and sturdy. Love the 2nd-row bucket seats making it easy to get to the 3rd row. I especially love the keyless entry that allows me lock/unlock doors and start the car without taking the key from my purse. The automatic back door opening/closing buttons are fantastic when your arms are full with a big load. My only complaints about this car are a few issues we had in the first year of owning. There were some issues with it pulling and vibrating like it was out of alignment t... (more)
Story
This fourth of July we parked the car to watch fireworks. The very comfy, roomy back area with the back end up was a perfect spot to watch the fireworks, and when it got too loud for my little ones, we were able to put the back end down and enjoy the rest of them through the windows.
Pros
Powerful V6 engine. Keyless remote. Locks with touch of handle. Unlocks standing near door. Back door opens and closes with touch of button. Great navigation features. Sunshades. Leather seats. Roomy. Has hidden 3rd-row seats. Bucket 2nd-row seats. Audio options. Heated seats. 2 presets for the drivers side seat settings.
Cons
Very sensitive wheels... easily knocked out of alignment. Don't like the power steering set up on this model.
