The Highlander was the first SUV I ever purchased and after 2 years am still excited about how nice it is both as a passenger and a rider. It was a huge purchase for our family but I’ve never regretted it. It has lived up to the Toyota quality hype with zero issues. We drive our cars hard and keep them for a long time. It still drives and feels like a brand new car so I’m confident we’ll get at least 10 good years out of this. It’s great for glamping, the seats fold down flat enough to slide in futon mattress. Open the moonroof and it’s better than a 5 star hotel!
Story
I love loading up the car with the grill and cooler and heading to one of our gorgeous lakes or parks in Minnesota. I’m a later adopter to the whole sub thing but now I get it....you feel like you are ready for anything. Helping a friend with a furniture move, filling up at Costco, whatever!
Pros
Great solid feel with a smooth ride, really comfortable in first 2 rows and 3 row is tolerable for a short ride. Easy to drive, feels like a car not a truck. Quiet interior. Decent audio and creature comforts. Great container between front seats big enough to stow a laptop Handles well in winter and never feels tippy or too heavy.
Cons
Tail lights protrude and have been dinged and needed to be replaced. Navigation system and some of the alerts on driver console are not intuitive. Leather seats stain with jeans.

2015 Toyota Highlander - Great.

The Toyota Highlander is without a doubt the best car we have ever owned. It has a solid, safe feel and really holds the road for a comfortable ride. The interior is well designed and very spacious for both passengers and cargo. The moon roof and leather seats at this trim level make the Highlander feel spacious. I’ve only gone through one Minnesota winter with it, but it seems to reform very well. It held the road well. The only thing I don’t like about the vehicle is the navigation system and other displayed information, such as miles per gallon and range, have been too confusing for me and my husband to use consistently. Also, the Bluetooth phone setup has been difficult to get right again once we switched the phones.
Story
Love opening the moon roof and driving around the lakes in Minneapolis, even in the dead of winter.
Pros
It’s a beautiful looking SUV. It seems very safe. Love the Toyota quality.
Cons
It’s expensive. Spent about 4Ok. Navigation system is hard to use.
