This has been one of the best trucks I've owned thus far. Awesome mpg ratio, powerful drive, and the fewest amount of mechanical problems of any car/truck I've owned. I've had it since 2007 and the only major repair I've needed was an O2 sensor. I have my truck serviced faithfully by Toyota and there hasn't been a single issue with my truck that wasn't covered under my full warranty. The leather interior has lasted through 9 years flawlessly, messy kids and all, and I have zero issues with the truck mechanically.
Story
When I first purchased the truck, I had a DVD player installed for my kids. They've since outgrown this, now using tablets and such, so we removed the player. With a postcard sized hole left in my headliner, my daughter had the bright idea to put my mother's Christmas cards into the empty slot. Now each Christmas, my children look forward to Grandma's cards and replacing last years card with t... (more)
Pros
My favorite thing about my truck is the power. I've owned SUVs/trucks in the past and one of my greatest praises for the Highlander is the amount of power packed into its V6 engine. Pressing the gas feels almost effortless and she quickly picks up speed.
Cons
The only negative I have for this truck is the lack of features for an '07 model. I have the highest trim and for the price, you would expect Toyota to at least put in an aux port. I ended up upgrading to a navigation system with the proper hook-ups.

2014 Toyota Highlander - Great car for the money.

I've enjoyed owning this car. It drives very smoothly, and I haven't had any issues whatsoever outside of general maintenance. My biggest complaint is the Entune system which is poorly designed. You cannot see the screen at all when there is a glare from the sun, which makes using it next to impossible.
Story
Great for driving around town and to the beach and mountains. In addition to be a fun grocery-getter, it is also has great performance when needing to accelerate quickly on the interstate during rush hour commute.
Pros
The Highlander has proven to be a great family vehicle. I can do all of my errands and shopping in one trip and fold down the third row seats for extra cargo room. the 3rd row is a tight squeeze for teens or adults, but smaller kids fit great and the convenience of having the extra seating makes up for the lack of leg room. Just don't make the older kids ride back there on long trips!
Cons
The Toyota Entune System desperately needs an overhaul and redesign to make it more user-friendly. Even with adjusting the colors and brightness, I still can't see the screen with bright sun glare.
