2010 Toyota Highlander Owner Ratings & Reviews

2010 Toyota Highlander - Our Toyota Highlander is the perfect car for our lifestyle!
I love our Toyota Highlander. We live in Colorado, where weather can be volatile. It handles great in any weather that comes at us, including ice and sleet. It is large enough that we can fit all four of our kids comfortably and still have room for my nephew when we need to pick him up. The car is a hybrid and gets great mileage around town. It handles beautifully on our trips across Kansas and Missouri to see relatives in St. Louis. Although trunk space is very limited when we have the back row upright, when we have that back seats down, it allows for huge amounts of room. We were able to make a minimal number of trips when moving because of this. The car is reliable, and we have never had any real issues with it, other than the motor going out on a window. This car is perfect for eve... (more)
Story
We had a particularly nasty snow storm last year. Because we are so close to the mountains, driving around town is a series of very steep hills. We were trying to get home, which required us to go up one of the steepest hills here. As many cars were struggling to get up the hill and sliding back down, we were able to make it easily to the top, without any issues.
Pros
The top positive things about our car is the ability to fit all four of our children (including booster and car seats) comfortably in the car. The car is reliable and safe and gets great mileage. It also handles very well in all sorts of weather. I love how much room there is in the car when the rows are down. It is a practical car that actually looks sleek as well. It has great acceleration when getting on the highway, and because it is a hybrid, it gets amazing mileage around town.
Cons
I don't have much negative to say about the car. We take good care of it and have had very few issues with it. The only real problem we have had is with the motor in the passenger side window starting to go out. The window will roll down without issue, but when going back up, it will only go up a short ways, and then you have to let it sit for a while before trying to roll it up any further. Sometimes it can take 3-4 tries to get it all the way back up. There is also very little trunk room when all of the rows of seats are up.
2010 Toyota Highlander - Comfortable safe family vehicle
The 2010 Toyota Highlander comfortably seats seven. We have had three car seats and four adults in ours and were all comfortable and safe in our seats. The bench seat is surprisingly comfortable as well, not just a flat seat, high head rests and some contour to the seating. The middle row has the option of a removable middle seat and adding armrests to become captains chairs. Heated front seats and air conditioning vents in the front and back add to the comfort of the vehicle, as well as rear temperature controls. Knowing my family is safe in this SUV with full side curtain airbags, in addition to regular front airbags, adds to the peace of mind of having my family travel in the vehicle. The reliability of a Toyota also adds to the comfort and value. We've had no issues and maintain re... (more)
Story
Our family loves driving to the river to go fishing with the sunroof open and music playing. Many happy memories made as a family in our Highlander.
Pros
Comfort, safety, reliability, roomy, easy to drive, and good resale value.
Cons
Gas mileage (18/22) is acceptable but not great.
