Even after ten years, my Highlander looks and runs like new. I get many compliments on this vehicle. I've never had any major mechanical issues. It has been a very reliable car and has held up well.
Story
This vehicle has taken many road trips from LA to Vegas! Anyone who has taken that trip, knows it can be a long, boring and hot ride. It's always been super comfortable in the Highlander!
Pros
Beautiful leather interior, navigation, very spacious, and great sound system. It's super easy to fold the seats down in the back to get even more room in the trunk. I've even moved furniture in this vehicle!
Cons
I wish the technology was more up to date -- but it is a 2006, so that is understandable. There were a few minor glitches that have happened over the years (wear and tear). The driver's sun visor does not stay up. The driver's door has to be locked manually. These are just minor annoyances that probably could be fixed, but I haven't spent the money to do so. I don't save as much on gas as I thought I would with a Hybrid.

My 2002 Highlander is a work horse. It has over 100,000 miles and still looks great--both in terms of the design and how it's held up. It's a very practical car, not flashy but still fun to drive and comfortable for long distances. Pretty good mileage for an SUV as well. It feels very safe and has great visibility.
Story
One time I drove my Highlander to the beach, and we all had fun. We were tired after playing at the beach, and we got a little bit of sand in the car. It was okay because it was so easy to clean out, and it was so comfortable.
Pros
This car has held up beautifully over a course of 12 years. The wood interior does not look dated or worn down, and the leather is still luxurious and supple. There have been very few issues with the engine/transmission/etc. Fairly responsive brakes and steering, especially considering it's an economy SUV.
Cons
The car occasionally makes strange noises that I haven't been able to figure out. Underneath the center console there's a pointless cubby, where everything you put in it gets lost. The license plate area isn't sized quite right, so frames don't screw in properly and have to be left partially loose.
