2005 Toyota Corolla - Good value
It gets great gas mileage. It has a comfortable ride and lots of truck space.
Story
Telling my brother in law how much gas I used to go on vacation.
Pros
It gets great gas mileage and has a nice ride. For it's size it has a lot of leg room and storage. Changing air filter and oil \filter is easy.
Cons
Driver side seat could be better. Wheel well clearance between the tire is a tad small and makes it difficult in the winter to clean out
1997 Toyota Corolla - Dependable as a Loyal Dog!
The body of this car is beyond durable. I had over 170K+ miles on the original motor and roughly 60K on the new motor. I have only had to replace the motor and that was in 2003. The inside is cloth interior and cleans up nicely even with three kids and two dogs. It does have power locks and windows which are nice and they include a lock feature to prevent children from playing with them. It has the original stereo; with a hook up for an HDMI cord to listen to a cell phone/Pandora. This has been such a well built and durable vehicle that has required little to no maintenance. It is comfortable to ride it for long periods of time; we drove to Missouri from Ohio and had zero issues with space and comfortably.
Story
We were coming back from Michigan to Ohio, we got a flat tire and did a 180 on the turnpike, not a scratch on anyone in the vehicle and minimal damage to the exterior. We replaced the tire, flipped around, and continued on our way home. The car was STILL DRIVEABLE! After all of that!
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle is the gas mileage. Even with the rising cost of gas, I can still put $35 in and that gets a full tank! I love that aspect about it. Another favorite is the fact that the body is durable, prior to my owning it, it was involved in an accident and even after it has held up threw snow, rain, and the outside elements-golf balls! It also has a HUGE trunk space for storing strollers, luggage, etc.
Cons
The main downside to this vehicle is that it is foreign and therefore if something does go wrong the parts can be costly and dealership rates are very expensive.
