I purchased this vehicle three years ago. Everyone told me not to, no one was encouraging. It was a starter vehicle for me. It had 400,000 miles and a dent in the trunk. Started up like a champ. Has air conditioning. A big plus was automatic windows. It has four doors and a hand e-brake as a bonus for those extra sporty moments. This car obviously was used and had quite a few dings and scratches, but overall, the paint was still good. The previous owners obviously smoked and had kids judging by the melted crayons.
Story
Let parent borrow car out of kindness. They ran it on ~1 quart of oil for 6 months. It's completely fine.
Pros
Air conditioning, automatic, hand e-brake, nice maroon paint, four doors, actually rather spacious inside, big trunk, and a four cylinder. It literally uses no gas. Motor was tight and ran unbelievable at 400,000 miles, and still today. Leaks a small amount of oil, didn't even notice until six months later. Was greater than two quarts low, still ran like a champ. Like I said, didn't even notice. Still kickin'.
Cons
Somehow also 400,000 miles. Suspension was a little quirky, felt like a go cart. Gas pedal gave it gas a little too quick, accidental burnout galore. Nothing to really hate except the gas was touchy at take off, and it had a little trouble passing other cars, probably just a sensor slightly out of range. Recirculate air button will not stay on, can be fixed by holding it down with tape.

2005 Toyota Corolla - Runs great but cosmetically it falls apart

I have enjoyed this car for five years. It has performed well. I'd say it's needed the standard amount of repairs in comparison to most other vehicles on the market. I've taken many road trips and drive it in the city as well.
Story
I brought my daughter home from the hospital in this car. It was the most wonderful day of my life.
Pros
The best things about this vehicle is the gas mileage and the reliability of the engine.
Cons
Most frustrating is that the interior has fallen apart in many ways, including the door lock on the driver side falling completely into the door casing and I've never been able to get it out. If I want to simultaneously lock all the doors from the inside, I have to use the passenger side lock. Also, the clock below the radio has been pushed back into the casing as well. I am afraid to touch it for fear that it will fall completely into the car's interior up under the hood somewhere. The clock stopped working years ago also. Also, the CD player is broken.
