2005 Toyota Corolla - A Relationship Worth Keeping Alive
One of the best things about the Toyota Corolla (2005 edition) is the safety. Driving in LA, people on the road can be real maniacs and even after a few fender-benders, my car runs just fine. I tend to worry intensely about safety issues like blind-spots in my mirrors, but the Corolla has very small blind-spots. It sips gas and doesn't keep me at the pump everyday. In the times I've had to transport a lot of items, the Corolla has been plenty roomy and my materials are kept safe. Overall, the Corolla may not be flashy or a sporty vehicle, but it's pretty darn reliable and affordable.

I was driving my car in Hollywood and saw the actor Gary Busey crossing the street.
Pros
The Corolla is great on gas. It is a safe vehicle that can withstand minor accidents. It does not require a great amount of upkeep or maintenance if you do basic things correctly. It was a good value even ten years after it was produced. The mirrors do not have large blind spots. The interior is comfortable and pretty roomy. Toyota Corolla is one of the most popular models made, so you're sure to run into other people you know with the car and that can spark conversations about the car. It has no problems driving up-hill or accelerating on the highway.
Cons
The Corolla is not an all-terrain vehicle with four-wheel drive that can be taken off-roading. There are no special features to keep you safe in the event of bad driving. It's not the kind of newer model with safety features such as a camera that shows you the outside of your car to make parking easier. Sometimes lights come on the dash and there isn't actually anything wrong with the vehicle. While I owned the car I had tires blow out on me on the highway which was really scary and could have resulted in an accident or death of someone in my vehicle in the worst case scenario.
2005 Toyota Corolla - Old Reliable
This is the only car I ever purchased new and while at the time I was worried about the cost, I've had it for over ten years now and am quite satisfied with it. This is a Toyota Corolla and the main thing that I love about it is that it starts whenever I turn the key!
Story
Two years ago I decided, on the spur of the moment, to do a "Route 66 Road Trip" from California to Missouri, to visit some relatives and just have an enjoyable trip. I was able to get a wonderful picture of my "rust bucket" in Winslow, Arizona, where they have a big sign and tourist area commemorating the song ("Standin' on the corner in Winslow, Arizona"). Pros
1) The price - it cost $16,000 and zero financing. It's been worth every penny! 2) Gas mileage - very good. I drive from L.A. to Phoenix about four times a year and I can make it on one tank. That's a big deal to me because I used to have to stop along the way more than once in my old pickup truck. 3) No frills - I didn't pay for any "extras" but even with the basics, it's a very comfortable car with everything I need to make my drive pleasant.
Cons
The only really negative thing about my Toyota Corolla is that the paint job didn't last more than a few years. I have watched it slowly turn from a sky blue piece of heaven to a rusty "beater". I keep telling myself that it is what's under the hood that counts. But I do get a little embarrassed when I'm going through the car wash or visiting my mother. The only consolation is that I've seen other Toyotas from the same year and they all seem to have this issue.

Toyota of Downtown L. A. is a great place to find your next car. The salesmen there were great and very willing to help me test drive cars. They were able to work within my budget and helped to secure a good lease. In fact, they were extremely patient because I took nearly 3 months to choose a car. I would definitely return to them simply because they aren't your traditional salesmen, they were more like helpful strangers.

2011 Toyota Corolla - Toyota Of Downtown La Los Angeles
The salesmen were very nice and courteous. They were patient over the course of my visits. They never tried to rush the deal and even looked at other dealers during price comparisons. I think that the people and location are great. I would recommend this to my friends.
