This was my first vehicle that I ever owned, and I really like it. I've owned my 2010 Toyota Corolla LE for about 4 years now and have had very few issues. Performance has been great as far as gas mileage/efficiency is concerned. This vehicle has also kept me safe on three separate occasions -- two deer collisions and an accident with another driver. While this vehicle has kept me safe, I dislike the amount of plastic on the exterior of the car. The strong metal frame kept me safe throughout all accidents, but the damage becomes quite a bit to pay for due to the plastic-heavy exterior.
Story
One memorable event in this car was driving my friends around in high school for the first time and hearing the compliments on how great the sound system was (even though it was just simply the stock speakers).
Pros
First and foremost, the gas mileage for the year of the car is excellent. On average I get about 32 MPG, and that is with an even split of city and highway driving. Also, the stock speakers in the car are much better than many other cars I have been in to this day. Both sound quality and volume are great. For a small car, the trunk is also quite spacious.
Cons
As mentioned before, the plastic exterior damages easily and is expensive to get repaired or replaced. As an adult male, the car leaves a bit to be desired as far as space is concerned. Although one of my pros, the trunk space could be reduced slightly to increase room for passengers. One other thing is I have found the heat shield is prone to unfastening itself from the bottom of the car. This has amounted to more than $300 for the number of times I have needed to get it repaired.

The Corolla I own is a great-looking car that is fun to drive. Performance is as expected for its class. The experience of owning the vehicle is marred by certain quality inefficiencies and minor problems with some technology aspects.
Story
The dog enjoyed riding in the car and howling at fire trucks as they drove by with their sirens on. He's never done that before! He also quite enjoyed always getting in this vehicle over the other full-size Corolla we own. This hatchback was able to fit a 95-pound German Shepherd comfortably, and he would always be extremely happy to go for a ride in it.
Pros
It looks great. It's fun to drive, and it also has a useful cargo space for the size of the vehicle. The handling of the car is also nice. The manual transmission feature is an uncommon choice I made, for sure, but one I continue to enjoy to this day.
Cons
Some aspects of the vehicle feel cheap and fail to instill confidence in the long-term viability of the vehicle. Some of the high-tech features like the automatic headlights and the collision detection camera never function completely or accurately, and also cannot be turned off. Also, the black paint shows scratches and dirt far easier than on any other car I've encountered. The parking brake always felt loose - alluding to a lower concern with quality than is typical with Toyota vehicles.
