2011 Toyota Corolla Owner Ratings & Reviews
Write a Review
2011 Toyota Corolla - Great economy car for beginners/first time buyers.
The vehicle makes for a great beginner's/first car. For a Corolla, the Sport class looks rather nice and not too much like a regular Corolla. The build is solid overall, as I haven't had any major breakdowns or anything of the sort in the past 60,000 miles. It's a fairly comfortable car overall, and what it lacks in power makes up for reliability.
Story
One of my friends was feeling a bit blue, so I took her and a close friend of ours around Hollywood hills. We drove up Mulholland and just watched the city skyline, talking and laughing.
Pros
The biggest strength of this car is its fuel economy. The Corolla S goes 36 miles per gallon on the highway and 32 miles per gallon in the city, so the tank will take you far. It accelerates fairly quickly for a 4-cylinder engine, so it can hit 35mph in a matter of seconds. Steering is incredibly comfortable, and the drive itself is very smooth. The trunk is surprisingly big, as I was able to fit a drum kit. The whole car can probably fit a whole band setup if you don't have any passengers!
Cons
One of the main problems with the car is the power. The Corolla will struggle going uphill, and you can feel it in the engine. It's a 4-cylinder engine, so getting on slopes will be a battle. The brakes aren't anything to brag about. They feel somewhat weak, and while it feels smooth, you'd have to put in a little more of a step to get the car to stop. The sound system gets by, but it isn't of any particular merit.
2011 Toyota Corolla - Very satisfied with my car.
When I was car shopping, the first thing that I noticed was the visual appeal the car had as this is always the most important quality when purchasing a vehicle. I wasn't to fond of the price of the vehicle, but was able to convince the dealership to lower the price.
Story
When I first bought the vehicle, I parked in the handicap section so everybody could see the car. I did have a handicap sticker, but it wasn't mine. Don't ask.
Pros
I always loved sporty vehicles or cars that had the "Fast and Furious" appearance to them so that was the first thing that caught my attention. I'm not a fan of SUV's or trucks so that was also a plus when I was to make my final decision about purchasing the vehicle. The sound system was surprisingly good so there was no need to upgrade. I've had the car for several years now and have not had to have any major repairs done.
Cons
The price of the vehicle was a little steep for my taste, but I was able to convince them to lower the price. Even still, the price of the vehicle was probably a little too much for me personally, but the visual appearance of the car was too good to pass up. I probably would have considered another color as I purchased a black vehicle. I live in Florida so the heat can be unbearable at times.
