I bought my Corolla straight out of college. I needed something cheap and reliable, and am completely satisfied with my choice. I bought the standard model, without any of the bells and whistles, and the car ended up being one of the lowest prices I saw while shopping around. I've had the car for 8 years now and have had only minimal repairs. The car is small, and would not be ideal for people with kids or who need to haul a lot of stuff. The trunk is a fair size despite the cars overall smallness, and the seats in the back fold down to allow longer items to fit in the trunk. Even with this, the vehicle is not ideal for people who need to haul a lot. The small size, however, gives the car great gas mileage.
Story
I managed to leave the sunroof wide open during a two day long spring storm. I had a couple inches of water in the cupholders when I next got into the car, but the interior dried out nicely and now everything looks extra clean.
Pros
The car has great gas mileage. It also is extremely reliable, and has required few repairs in the 8 years I've had it. It now has close to 100,000 miles on it, and still drives like new. I have a manual transmission and this car is a fun ride!
Cons
The car is small and cannot carry a lot of people or cargo. While the seats in the back fold down to extend the trunk, they only fold down to a 45 degree angle and are awkward for anything thick or inflexible. Because the car is so small, it can be a slightly noisy and bumpy ride when traveling at higher speeds. The small engine makes it struggle on ice and snow.

I think that this is one of the safest cars on the road. It has a great interior, its compact, and it fits in the smallest of spaces. The car is very easy to handle, whether that may be in the rain, windy situations, and even snow. The one thing that I do not like about the car is that it does not have a aux cord hookup. But I am able to still listen to my own mix CDs, which is great.
Story
I once drove around the city of Charlotte looking for One Direction, while listening to their songs. I ended up finding them, and they noticed me singing along to their songs in the car. So much fun!
Pros
The car is very safe. I was in a fender bender a few years ago, and the car suffered minimal damage, which was very reassuring. The interior is very easy to maintain, as well as the exterior. It has excellent gas mileage, which came in handy a few years ago when the gas prices were a bit ridiculous. It costs about $30 to fill up, and that lasts me about a week.
Cons
The one negative that I have about this car is the speaker system. I am quite young, and I think the demographic for this particular vehicle is an older crowd, so the speakers aren't up to par for me. I think that the radio is a hindrance as well. While I do have my own CDs, I would quite enjoy having a variance of station that satellite radio offers.
