My vehicle is a 2001 Toyota Camry. It is a four-door XLE edition with leather interiors and a sunroof. I initially bought it in 2015 because I was commuting over 70 miles to and from school. I wanted to save on gas mileage and I did. Over the last four years, the car has acquired over 250,000 miles on it and is still running great.
Story
We drove across state to Disney land, an eight-hour drive and then took a detour on the way home to Arizona to see family.
Pros
The best things about this vehicle is its gas mileage. Overall, the vehicle remains very reliable and retains its value if up kept. The overall price is usually affordable, for a car that could potentially last until your kids are old enough to drive. Mine came with leather interiors and a sunroof. The interior has deteriorated a bit (a few rips) but is overall still nice. The car requires little upkeep (but recommended). If you choose not to work on it, the vehicle will still take you far. The engine is able to be fixed from home with a little know how, you do not necessarily need to take... (more)
Cons
If you have leather interiors, you will need to get seat covers or window tinting. Mine did not have that, and I live in a hot state. The engine compartment has minimal space to work on it, so any small job requires extra disassembly of the engine. The shock systems need to be replaced about every four years. I have heard my passengers complain of car ride sickness from the back.

I initially purchased my Toyota Camry V-6 LE because I wanted side-curtain airbags and anti-lock brakes for my daily commute to Los Angeles. I've used the anti-lock brakes on many occasions, and, thanks to them, I've never had the airbags trigger! Being a V-6, it's a pretty heavy car, which means that it hugs the road very well and doesn't get blown off course every time a truck goes by. I feel safe and secure in the cockpit, with good sound insulation and comfortable seats. The entertainment options were state of the art in 2003, meaning that I can enjoy AM and FM radio, a cassette player, and a CD player. I don't have any children, but my wife usually rides in the back seat and will vouch for the roominess and comfort -- while I'm driving along, she's usually stretched out back there... (more)
Story
On our last road trip, with my wife riding in the back seat, she was taking all sorts of pictures of the scenery through the windows. I had no idea that she would get so many shots of the back of my head!
Pros
Reliability, safety, comfort, decent mileage.
Cons
Mileage isn't as good as I would like. The car is wider than I'm comfortable driving in heavy traffic.
